Coaches Announced

 

10U Head Coach: Jason Pierce

 

Jason Pierce, a level 5 USA hockey coach, started his coaching career over a decade ago in Boston, Massachusetts. Jason played four years of NCAA hockey at Franklin Pierce University, where he graduated in 2006. This will be Jason's third consecutive season as Head Coach of the Mallards 10U team. Aside from coaching the 10U Mallards, Jason is also the Youth Hockey Director of the Central Austin Hockey Association.

 

12U Head Coach: Eli Billing

 

Eli Billing is from Windsor, Ontario. He grew up playing AAA hockey for the Windsor Jr. Spitfires. He then went on to play four years of junior hockey, spending time in the GOJHL and in the NAHL for the Philadelphia Rebels. Following his junior career, he played four years of NCAA hockey at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, graduating in 2022. Eli has been involved in coaching minor hockey in Windsor for years. He worked alongside his Dad, Paul Billing, who was a former professional hockey player and with former Detroit Red Wings/Texas Stars goalie coach, Jim Bedard.



14U Head Coach: Ian Carroll

 

Ian Carroll grew up in Dallas, TX, and started playing hockey the year the Dallas Stars moved in (1993). Growing up, Ian played for 10 years with the Dallas Jr Stars, Dallas Penguins, and high school hockey for the Garland Stampede, often times serving as a Captain. After playing high school hockey, Ian played for the Texas A&M Club team. He has been playing at the Pond since 2018 and coaching since 2021.

 

16U Head Coach: Tanner Dalton

 

Tanner grew up in Bakersfield, California, where he played for multiple youth teams, including the Valencia Express, LA Jr. Kings, California Heat, and California Titans. At 16 years old, he headed out to play prep school hockey for 3 years at Vermont Academy. After Vermont Academy, he played in the EHL for the New York Applecore, then finished off his playing career playing NCAA DIII hockey for the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Tanner has been coaching youth hockey teams since he was 18.

 

 

18U Head Coach: Jeff Hawken

 

Coach Hawken was born and raised in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. He started playing hockey when he was 5 years old and has been around the game his entire life. Jeff played travel hockey from ages 12 to 18. During his second year of Peewee, his team earned a spot in the provincial finals. In addition to travel hockey, Coach Hawken played High School hockey. His High School team was district champs twice. In addition to coaching, Jeff still plays in Adult Rec Leagues.

2025 CAHA Checking Clinic (May 17th & 18th)

 

This clinic is for birth years 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012. The CAHA checking clinic will cover fundamental checking skills, which include Positioning & Angling, Stick Checking, Body Contact and Body Checking. This clinic is designed for players that are new to body checking or players looking for a refresher before tryouts. During contact drills, players will be grouped together based on age and ability.

 

Times: May 17th 7:00pm-8:00pm & May 18th 1:15-2:15pm
